great show! Aug 29, 2010 Season five was excellent, and I'm so looking forward to the release of Season six. Discovery Channel does an excellent job with this series...never letting it reduce itself to the normal catty level of many "reality" shows. Real men, doing real jobs and all that goes with it. I feel like I am a part of their families!
Gripping! Jul 24, 2010 There are two great shows on television right now: DEADLIEST CATCH and WHALE WARS. This DVD set is better and richer in terms of features than WHALE WARS, altough I think CATCH has gotten a bit repetitive. Still, a great, entertaining show!
Completing my series collection Jun 25, 2010 The series is outstanding and I love watching these guys. This is the only reality show I have cared to watch. Having my own collection of the series is great, that way I can watch these guys any time I am home alone. And that way my room mate won't get sea sick from the rocking boats. Too bad Capt. Phil died, his family is interesting to watch. One can't help but love all of these fishermen. I highly recommend this and the other Deadlist Catch seasons.
cjharris Jun 04, 2010 This is one of the best shows ever!!!! It just gets better as the Seasons go along!! Once you start watching, you will be hooked!!!

I would have given it 5 stars but... Jun 03, 2010 while watching the bonus disc, I realized there is an opportunity for the Discovery Channel that no one else in North America is taking advantage of.
I like the new trend of Disc. Channel DVDs now including subtitles. However there is a trend of nearly every DVD made for anyone living on this entire continent, which I don't like at all. That is, the controversion of this new technology in aiding the acquisition of any languages other than Spanish or French.
I watched After the Catch, and one of my favorite parts showed all of the captains laughing at international clips of each other be dubbed over like a bad Godzilla movie.
At first I laughed right along with them, but then I thought a little about it. Why are there only 2 languages allowed on North American DVDs? Are we encouraging ignorance? Sig Hansen himself speaks a language other than one of those 2, I'm sure his brothers probably do as well and I imagine they would all find it really amusing to see entire episodes of their peers being voiced over. It seems like the least that D.C. could do considering they risk their lives constantly, just so that we can eat some seafood that doesn't have B.P.'s oil all over it.
In some states German is the 2nd most spoken language after English, I speak it myself and I'm learning Russian which is also up and coming. Why can't I purchase DVDs with these languages and subtitles anywhere on this continent? I can't even get them from Germany or Russia because Amazon.de and .ru won't allow it.
What really drives me up a wall is that the foreign German and Russian films which are allowed for sale here have Spanish subtitles but not German and Russian.
IF ANYONE FROM MARKETING AT DISCOVERY CHANNEL IS READING THIS, PUT SOME OF THESE OTHER TOP LANGUAGES IN AUDIO AND SUBTITLES OUT FOR SALE. YOU ALREADY HAVE THEM MADE AND YOUR MISSING AN AUDIENCE OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE THAT WOULD BUY FROM YOU EXCLUSIVELY!!!
